Storage & Handling

How should I store maple syrup?

  • Before opening: Store in a cool, dark place such as a pantry.

After opening: Maple syrup should be stored in the refrigerator in a glass container to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.

How long does maple syrup last once opened?

When refrigerated, pure maple syrup can last 6-12 months after opening. Always check for changes in smell, taste or appearance.

Can maple syrup go bad?

Yes, because it is a natural product. If stored improperly, it may develop mould or fermentation. If this occurs, the syrup should not be consumed.
